Q. How is the Bumper-to-Bumper warranty affected by this 100,000-Mile/5-Year warranty?
A. The Bumper-to-Bumper New Vehicle Limited Warranty on new Saturn cars and light-duty trucks remains in effect for 3 years or 36,000 miles (whichever comes first). For more details, please visit your Saturn dealer or click here: www.gm.com/explore/quality/
Q. Can I purchase this extra powertrain coverage for my 2006 (and prior) vehicle?
A. You may be eligible to choose from one of our GMPP offerings which can be tailored to meet your needs – including extended powertrain coverage. Please contact your selling retailer or Saturn Authorized Service Provider for details on the various GM Protection Plan programs.
Q. What about Courtesy Transportation?
A. Courtesy Transportation is also included for 5 years/100,000 miles2 (whichever comes first) on all 2007 through 2009 Saturn passenger cars and light-duty trucks. Whenever warranty repairs are required, several transportation options and/or reimbursement of certain transportation expenses are available for your convenience at participating retailers.
Q. What does the Bumper-to-Bumper warranty cover?
A. The Bumper-to-Bumper New Vehicle Limited Warranty covers vehicles registered in the U.S. and Canada from the date the vehicle is first delivered until it reaches 3 years or 36,000 miles (whichever comes first). It covers the vehicle from bumper to bumper on any vehicle defect related to materials or workmanship. For further details, look in the Owner's Manual under "What Is Covered" and "What Is Not Covered."
Q. Is my vehicle covered from rust, too?
A. Saturn vehicles are designed and built to resist corrosion. All body and sheet metal components are warranted against rust-through corrosion for 6 years/100,000 miles (whichever comes first). Application of additional rust-inhibiting materials is neither necessary nor required under the Sheet Metal Coverage. Saturn makes no recommendations concerning the usefulness or value of such products. Application of after-manufacture rustproofing products may create an environment that reduces the corrosion resistance built into your vehicle. Repairs to correct damage caused by such applications are not covered under your New Vehicle Limited Warranty. See your Saturn retailer or Saturn Authorized Service Provider for terms of this limited warranty.
Q. Can I take my Saturn to any GM dealership for warranty repairs?
A. These repairs must be performed by an Authorized Saturn retailer or Saturn Authorized Service Provider. It's in your best interest to take your Saturn vehicle to a Saturn retailer or Saturn Authorized Service Provider for all repairs since they are the most knowledgeable about the particulars of your vehicle.
Q. Does GM offer or endorse any service contracts for new or used vehicles?
A. Yes, the GM Protection Plan (GMPP) vehicle service and maintenance contracts and the Saturn Service Protection Plan (SSPP) are the only products endorsed by General Motors and are available through most GM dealers, Saturn retailers or Saturn Authorized Service Providers. To learn more about the different plans available, please visit www.gmprotectionplan.com.
Q. What is a Saturn Authorized Service Provider?
A. Over the next year, we will be launching a network of Saturn Authorized Service Providers. In fact, quite a few are already up and running. We plan to have service providers in place as Saturn retail facilities close, and we should have a solid presence by the end of 2010. Rest assured, these service providers are going to offer the same excellent level of service for which Saturn has always been known.
Q. What is happening to the Saturn brand?
A. As you probably know, the entire Saturn brand is being phased out. Even though there are no longer any Saturn vehicles available, the fuel-efficient, fun-to-drive spirit of Saturn continues in both our Certified Used program and in the lineup of exciting new cars and trucks within the GM family.
