With thousands of military veteran employees, General Motors’ support for the United States armed forces spans generations. Today, General Motors assists the Achilles Freedom Team of Wounded Veterans a variety of employment and grassroots initiatives. GM is a proud sponsor of Navy Athletics and the Army Navy football game held annually in December.
GM is committed to supporting veterans as they transition to civilian life
- GM is a corporate sponsor in the U.S. Chamber of Commerce Foundation’s “Hiring Our Heroes Program,” a national grassroots effort to find jobs for returning veterans and their spouses.
- GM is also partner in the “100,000 Jobs Mission,” a coalition of private sector businesses dedicated to hiring 100,000 veterans by 2020.
- GM’s Service Technical College and GM Automotive Service Educational Programs, provide employment and technical training for opportunities in the GM Dealer Network.
- GM’s Service Technical College offers training free to veterans and returning service members to prepare them for both technical and non-technical entry-level roles in a dealership.
